We are more and more concerned about our “dying rivers.”

Rivers provide water for drinking, for carrying away wastes, and for carrying on manufacturing.

Rivers are home for fish. They are wonderful places for recreation.

Rivers add a great deal to the beauty of a region.

Big cities have enormous amounts of waste to get rid of.

It is very easy to dump household and chemical wastes from factories into lakes and rivers.

Water from farmland after a heavy rain carries mud, fertilizer and insecticides with it.

Some of the rivers have become so badly polluted that they no longer serve our purposes.

The Environment Protection Administration should attach more importance to environment improvement.

It is urgent to take take action to clean up the badly polluted rivers.

It is time to build better plants for sewage disposal.

It is a laudable idea to plant trees to save rivers.
