Our school campuses used to be peaceful places where students could concentrate on their studies.

Pressure for the students to study hard was heavy, but the vast majority of students were diligent and well-mannered.

However, during the past 10 years or so, the behavior of students has deteriorated.

Especially recently, campus violence has increased sharply.

And they are often against school authorities, teachers, and other disciplinarians.

Fights, extortions and sexual harassments are only a few examples of them.

The sharp increase in campus violence is due to many factors.

This is caused by the changes in social values.

Overemphasis on competition and individualism are also responsible for the increase of violence in school campus.

And it goes without saying that the neglect of moral and spiritual values is also to blame.

Our people, including students, have become less tolerant and more aggressive in seeking to promote their self-interest.

It is the responsibility of our government to work out methods for reducing campus violence.
